Solana (SOL) co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko has been confirmed as one of the main speakers at the upcoming TOKEN2049 global conference series in Singapore. The program will run from September 18 to 19, and 20,000 attendees are expected. In addition, more than 300 speakers, 400 exhibitors, and 7000 companies will connect to exchange ideas, network, and shape the industry.
Pending this much-anticipated program, the official X handle of Solana Mobile 2 has triggered speculation on a possible showcase of the New Saga 2 phone while drawing the attention of the community members to the co-founder’s participation at the conference.

Excitement of the First Solana Mobile
In December 2023, we reported on the launch of Solana’s Saga smartphone and the rising demand, which forced the company to sell more than it had in its inventory. Later, Solana issued an apology and promised a refund to affected buyers.

The Solana phone also operates on the Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform with Solana Mobile Stack’s Seed Vault, designed to enhance the security of digital assets. The Seed Vault also provides security by storing private keys and seed phrases.
According to multiple review platforms, this phone is designed to facilitate the integration of blockchain technology into daily mobile usage. Specifically, it is meant for users who are massively involved in cryptos and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Primarily, it is meant to blend conventional mobile functionalities with the incredible capabilities and features of the Solana blockchain.
Solana Mobile’s Chapter 2 Crosses 100,000 Preorders
The presale of the Solana Mobile 2 has reached 100k preorders in less than a month, recording a $45 million war chest. According to the announcement, the company wants to proceed and deliver the units to customers by 2025.
According to Yakovenko, this milestone cements the future of Solana Mobile. Similarly to the first phone, these units would have custom features designed for buying, selling, holding, and using cryptos. The co-founder also admitted the difficulties in outshining the likes of Apple and Google, hence, the reason for focusing on specific crypto features.
